Moser 12-Bolt
Let's face it. The stock 10-Bolt is not exactly a strong rear end. It can be made to handle some power, but if you are serious about performance, it HAS to go. Solution: Ditch the POS.
I had several choices in rear ends. I could have gone with a 9" and saved some money. But it is less efficient than a 12-bolt, can't use ABS with it, and is a Ford unit. That's enough reasons for me NOT to use it, but there are others as well.
Next, choosing a 12-Bolt. There are three places to really get them: Moser, Strange, and KTRE. Well, KTRE has been proven to completely rip their customers off (I am talking take their money and RUN) so I will not do business with them. Strange has been know to make a strong rear, but their gear whine a lot. Moser recently got into the 12-bolt business. They have built a very strong rep with their 9". Their prices are significantly lower than KTRE and Strange. And their gears don't whine much. This means that Moser was the place for me.
Mine is fully loaded. I have 3.73 gears, Heavy Duty "TA" Cover, 33 Spline Axles, Eaton 800# Heavy Duty Posi, and ABS. I got it from UnNatural Performance for a great price.
I like my new rear end. Work great, and should hold up nicely. I have no track use with it yet, so I can't give a full review until I do.
