Everyone likes a story right? Here is mine.
In January 2000, Leah (my girlfriend if you haven't checked out the rest of the site) paid to have my windows tinted, as an Xmas present. I had them do 15% all around, with an 8" windshield header. The quality was so-so, and I will not be going back.
Well, I drove like that for 10 months. Then, a state trooper decides to pull me over. Nice $90 ticket. He didn't even use a light gun on the windows. It was in Delaware County, the county directly north of Columbus. He said I was speeding a bit as well, but just gave me a warning. I could have fought the ticket, but the time/money lost from doing so wasn't worth it. At the time I figured he just used that as an excuse to not give me a speeding ticket. Was I wrong!!!
2 weeks later, going through Delaware County again (BTW, the cops there are dicks), I got pulled over again. I told him I was heading to a friends house to get it removed. He said I had 72 hours to remove it and show him or I'd get 2 tickets for it. I ended up ripping the damn stuff off except for the windshield header. Would have cost me more in tickets than to just rip it off and get new tint. I called him, and he said he believed me about taking it off, so I didn't have to show him. Whenever I find the time, I'll have them tinted again, but not quite as dark this time.
